The Origin & The Evolution

The K.C.S. Nadar Memorial Educational Improvement Committee was established in Chennai in 1962 by the initiative taken by certain sagacious and service minded Hindu Nadars of Virudhunagar in particular. Thirvalargal. Muruga Dhanushkodi, T.A.M.A. Marimuthu , K.C.S. Kasi Nadar, T.S.T. Rajah and Aru. Sankaralingam,B.Sc., opened new doors to the development of the younger generation. Their target to be more specific, the field of education, which plays an important part in moulding the young stars of future generation. Knowledge is the means of progress and it is the only instrument of production.

It is an English Medium School under the Matriculation system of Education commencing with Nursery and Preparatory Classes. The goal of Kalaivani Vidyalaya is to attain Discipline through Knowledge. The great soul who was interested in the upliftment of girls’ education was none other than Thiru T.S.T. Rajah. To honour him, Kalaivani Vidyalaya Girls’ Matric. Hr. Sec. School was named as T.S.T. Rajah Girls’ Matric. Hr. Sec. School since June 1997.

Thiruvalargal. Muruga Dhanushkodi, T.A.M.A. Marimuthu , K.C.S. Kasi Nadar, T.S.T. Rajah and Aru. Sankaralingam,B.Sc., opened new doors to the development of the younger generation. Their target, to be more specific was the field of education, which plays an important part in moulding the lives of the young stars of the future generations. They believed that knowledge was the means of progress and the only instrument production which is not subjected to diminishing return.

With these objectives in view the Committee established Muruga Dhanushkodi Girls' Higher Secondary School in the year 1964 and gave a call to those residing in North Madras , to rise to the occasion. People accepted it and now proudly acclaim that their children are getting the best education of their days.

To add one more feather to their cap and extend their good work to reach more students, for girls who aspire learning English in the way it has to be, they established yet another School , Kalaivani Vidyalaya , which was started in the year 1988. It is an English Medium School under the Matriculation system of Education commencing with Nursery and Preparatory Classes. The goal of Kalaivani Vidyalaya is to attain Discipline through Knowledge, since discipline through force or by customs does not sustain long. Pleasure and happiness alone is not the goal of human life. Man differs from lower order of creation by his disciplined life to attain perfection. Through the path of knowledge alone with the aspirations of man for self perception and refinement of society be fulfilled. Kalaivani Vidyalaya stands distinguished in trying to impart this knowledge by its sound and standard educational methods.

The means of achieving the object are well established. The surrounding conditions are ideal and encouraging. The strength of each class is limited so as to have a modest and productive beginning. Pupils are entrusted to skilful, experienced and dedicated lady teachers. The teachers are aided and equipped with all modern and sophisticated facilities which make their task easier and fruitful too. Under their guidance, the task of learning will not appear a burden but become an interesting and systematic process. The environment is most suitable to develop all the inherent talents of the child and thereby enhance the personality of the child to its fullest capacity.

The great soul who was interested in the upliftment of girls' education was none other than Thiru T.S.T. Rajah. To honour him, Kalaivani Vidyalaya Girls' Matric. Hr. Sec. School was named as T.S.T. Rajah Girls' Matric. Hr. Sec. School in June 1997. Our hands are outstretched to cater to the needy, our minds are clear to welcome suggestions from any well wisher. We pray for blessings from God to achieve all our aspirations to be the ones to serve.

Our prestigious K.C.S.N.M.E.I. Committee awards a Gold Medal to the student who has secured the highest total in the Matriculation and Higher Secondary Examination.

Gold medals for students who secure top marks in various subjects in Matric and Hr. Sec. Examination is awarded every year in the name of endowment holders.

Thiru G. Subramanian

An eminent businessman in North Chennai who caters to the needs of Girls' Education with English as a medium of instruction. He laid a milestone in the history of the school. He instrumented the progress of the school by his dedicated tasks. He is a pioneer, who collected huge fund for the development of the school. He shows keen interest in cultivating the skills in the minds of young and talented students and a great sports person during his teens.
